Top 100 SA Wines is a new, innovative, premium brand based around South Africa's finest wines. It will re-position South Africa's top wines with clarity, vigour and integrity. Consumer friendly and simple, we "de-myth the bunk", yet keep the romance of fine wine flowing. Top 100 SA Wines offers the premier fine-wine judged competition and consumer festival's in SA. Our consumer guide and website maintain a current showcase of winning wines and vineyards.
In this, our inaugural year, the event has been a great success with a particularly strong field of entrants, both in terms of quantity and quality. As a result, it was always going to be a difficult task for our judges to select the Top 100 wines. We never doubted this for a moment. Our panel of renowned international judges undertook a rigorous process of selecting the wines deemed to be the finest examples from a stellar line-up of great SA wines. We put in place a rigorous set of protocols and methodologies to ensure that the winning wines were objectively and independently assessed, often on a number of occasions, and thus worthy of the title: Top 100 SA Wine.
The judging of the wines took place from 28th March to 1st April and the results will be announced along with the launch of the publication Top 100 SA Wines 2011 Consumer Guide on Tuesday 19th April. The book provides consistent, useful, accurate information on each winning wine and producer. It also includes general wine information as well as full colour wine region maps. It will be the global reference point for those who enjoy or wish to enjoy SA's finest wines.
